This small campus offers full-time programming in Adult Basic Education and, at various times on a rotating basis, either Health Care Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse programs. They also provide a variety of programs offered solely at this campus: Activity Assistant, Herbal Practitioner, and Pesticide Applicator.

As well, the campus can provide a wide variety of Continuing Education Courses. These courses can either teach new skills, help improve present skills, widen one's interests or help one live a healthier, happier life.

Headquartered in Cranbrook, BC, COTR also has campuses in Fernie, Golden, Invermere, Kimberley and this one in Creston.

Established on May 8, 1975 as East Kootenay Community College, first classes were held on October 6, 1975 with 351 students in Cranbrook, 64 in Kimberley, 52 in Fernie, 39 in Golden and 37 in Invermere. In May of 1995 East Kootenay Community College changed its name to College of the Rockies. From 24 employees and a $1.2 million annual budget in 1975, in 2011 COTR had 247 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees and 626 non-regular employees and a $33 million annual budget.
