The statue was created by St. Augustine artist Enzo Torcoletti. It is part of the Florida Regimental Memorial, which is adjacent to the Museum. The Florida Regimental Memorial is dominated by the War War II soldier statue and also shows the areas of war service by Florida National Guard units, as well as a roster of Florida Guardsmen who lost their lives while in service.

He holds a rifle in his right hand and his left arm is raised. The dimensions of the statue are approximately 6 ft. 1 in. x 5 ft. x 3 ft. 6 in..
