The Chemical Building is a 17 story office building built in 1896. The building was designed Henry Ives Cobb in a Chicago style and is very ornate. The building is currently undergoing a renovation with first floor retail, floors two and three office, four through twelve market-rate apartments and the top four floors will have luxury condominiums. With the new ownership the building has been renamed the Alexa.
