In Charlestowh, within the Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge, is this bench that is dedicated to Fran and Charles Nash.

To get to this bench, from US Route 1, travel to the intersection with Route 1A, take Route 1A for a short distance to the entrance to Ninigret Pond Park/National Wildlife Refuge and follow the road to the eastern end where there is a parking lot. Head east toward the water, passing through the end of the old runway. The bench is along a path running along Ninigret Pond.

The bench is a plastic=wood type. There is a bronze plaque in the center of the back. The text is as follows:

"'All That Volunteers Can Be'
In Honor of
Fran & Charles Nash
With Gratitude from
The Frinds ofthe
National Wildlife Refuge of RI."

I couldn't find out anything more concerning the Nash's. Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge is one of five national refuges along the southern coast of Rhode Island. This refuge and adjacent Ninigret Park were formed from an old training location for the U.S. Navy. Ninigret Pond is currently open to the ocean, but Ninigret Pond is a waterbody that is either fresh or brackish and is behind the barrier beach. Many water fowl stop here along during migration seasons.
