It is a Federal style home with 2 chimneys. It has a front porch with a hip roof. At one time there was an extension connecting it to a barn however this was removed in the 1960's.

The house was the first Free Public Library which was formed before 1880. In 1882 the Assoc. transferred 532 volumes to this location.
