Long Description:
After the City of Wheeling purchased Wheeling Park in 1924 it asked prominent citizens to purchase facilities for the park. Moses Sonneborn, a successful merchant, the owner of The Hub, a department store, stepped up and funded this entrance gate which was constructed in 1928.
