Reasonably well preserved, this truck has obviously never been restored. It appears complete and in running condition, though it's anyone's guess as to whether it would actually run. Equipped with stake sides and a pitched roof wooden cover, it may have been used either as a delivery truck or for inter city transport.

With a 3.8 inch bore and a 4 inch stroke the 175 cubic inch side valve engine produced either 20 or 22.5 HP (depending on the calculation method) at 1600 RPM and 83 Ft-Lbs of torque at 900 RPM. Coupled to the engine was a manual planetary transmission with two forward and one reverse gear. The planetary transmission required no clutch and shifting gears, including into reverse, was accomplished with the use of foot pedals. Only the rear wheels had brakes, meaning stopping distances could be long.

In 1921 Ford produced 1,394,201 Model Ts, of which 118,583 were truck chassis. The "T" had a 20 year production run, from 1908 to 1927. The "T" came with wooden wheels until the 1926 production year, during which they were changed to wire spoke wheels,

There is no indication of who owned the truck, how it was used, or how or when it came into the museum's possession. There is a 1950 license plate mounted on the truck, indicating that it may have been in use until then.

This is one of the many outdoor displays at the museum, for which there is no admission fee required.
