This bridge was built for the 1986 Stoke-On-Trent National Garden Festival, which was the second of only 5 National Garden Festivals in Britain. It was held in the city of Stoke-On-Trent from 1st May to 26th October 1986, and was opened by the Queen. Preparation of the site involved the reclamation of land formerly occupied by the Shelton Bar steelworks (1830 - 1978).
The area is now a retail, leisure and business park known as Festival Park.
The bridge joins the path on the Woodland Ridge, which is a nature area separating the retail and leisure side of the park with the business park and is a nice place to walk and explore as it features many remnants of the old Garden Festival.
Trail Name: Woodland Ridge Path
Approximate Length of Bridge: 148
Obstacle: Valley floor, which is another path
Trail Type: Earthen/Packed Dirt
