Pangadarin is a small town, on the southern coast of West Java. It is known as a beach goers destination, though its black, volcanic sand, is not attractive to everyone. The town has a population of somewhere in the order of thirty thousand people, and is filled with hotels, restaurants, and travel agencies.
At the beach side approach to the town is this sculpture, on a traffic roundabout. It depicts a group of sharks, joyously leaping skyward. Sharks are the symbol of the town.
