This little machine was used to turn large pieces or lengths of animal feed into small or short pieces of feed. It was totally manually operated, usually by a single operator. The operator would place feed in the tray and crank the handle which turned a rotating knife cutter. A worm drive simultaneously drove a feed mechanism which evenly fed the feed into the knife.
This is one of the many outdoor displays at the museum, for which there is no admission fee required.
