This is one of the vertical control discs monumented by BCCS on the long bridge south of the double arch bridge over the Kootenay River west of Creston.

These are odd looking discs, with a rod or length of rebar in the centre and a cast iron surround. They're larger than the common benchmark discs and easy to spot. Years ago they were painted red and white or yellow and white - this one red and white.
