This is a BC Survey Control Disk in the south end of Cranbrook, in a residential area.

On the northeast corner of 11th Street & 3rd Avenue, this control disk should be stamped "4709". That is the only disk recorded that is supposed to be on this corner. Its unique designation is 71H4709. This could be a replacement that has not yet been published. The vast majority of the BCCS disks that were monumented in this area contemporary with 4709 are now gone, as is 4709. This disk would have been monumented in 1996, 25 years later than others in the area.
