Der Otto-Leuchtturm, der offiziell alter Pilsumer Leuchtturm heißt, stammt aus dem Jahr 1891 und befindet sich in der Krummhörn in Ostfriesland. Als Leuchtturm ist er längst außer Dienst gestellt, er dient heute als Touristenattraktion und wird z.B. für Trauungen genutzt. Er ist zwar nur 11m hoch, doch durch seine auffälligen Farben sieht man ihn von weitem. Im Film "Otto - der Außerfriesische" mit Otto Waalkes diente der leuchtturm als Kulisse, was ihm seinen Spitznamen verschaffte.
In 500m Entfernung befindet sich ein Parkplatz. Der Fuß- und Radweg zum Leuchtturm ist barrierefrei, zum Leuchtturm selbst geht es steile Stufen hoch. Wer kann, sollte hinter dem Leuchtturm bei den Salzwiesen spazieren gehen.
The Otto Lighthouse (official name Pilsum Lighthouse) was built in 1891 on a North Sea dyke near the small village Pilsum in Krummhörn area, Eastern Frisia. It is retired long ago and used as a tourist attraction and for marriages now. The height is 11 metres and the famous colours are red and yellow. The lighthouse was used in the poplar German movie "Otto – Der Außerfriesische" by comedian Otto Waalkes. Otto lived there in the movie what gives the lighthouse its nickname.
There is a parking area nearby with 500 metres walk to the lighthouse. The walking path is handicapped accessible, but the lighthouse itself is not, because there are stairs up to the dyke.
