A dozen rocks are on display on three shelves at the Visitors Center for the Lake Mead NRA in Boulder City. Each rock has a tag attached to tell its story. For example, the sandstone tag informs us that it was created 280 to 260 million years ago when the vast sea that covered North America retreated.
