Granite monument featuring a Union Soldier at Parade Rest. The monument was originally dedicated to those local area citizens who volunteered for the Union Army in the Civil War.
Eventually, markers honouring those who served in The Spanish War, The Great War and World War II were added.
Inscription on the front of the monument reads:

THE SOLDIERS & SAILORS
OF PARISH N.Y.

The two benefacters were cousins who grew up in the Parish area, and over time became noted for their philanthropical works.
Original Marker reads:
This tablet is erected to honor the brave sons of Parish who enlisted for the cause of humanity in the Civil War 1861 - 1865
Ther are 130 Soldiers listed and three Committee Members.
