This bust is of the late Indonesian composer and singer, Ismail Marzuki (1914-58). He is known for his fierce nationalism, and his popular songs, which promoted Indonesian independence, unity, and patriotism. As well as being an accomplished composer, he is known for his skilled use of many musical instruments. In 2004 he was declared one of the National Heroes of Indonesia.

The bust is located at the entrance to the Jakarta Planetarium, in a cultural park named in his honour: Taman Ismail Marzuki. The bust is somewhat larger than life-sized, is made from bronze, and depicts Mr Marzuki in a suit.
