This memorial plaque is inside a country cemetery, Wild Rose Cemetery, along North Monroe Road about 4.7 miles west from Highway 395, about midway between Deer Park and Spokane's northern edge.

The cemetery is on the corner of North Hazard Road and North Monroe Road, which angles north from West Monroe Road. It was established in 1885 in Wayside Township. The earliest known burial was in 1887, the most recent in 2012.

The American Legion War Memorial is on the inside of the front fence, to the east of the main entrance. It consists of an aluminum plaque on a low stone plinth right against the fence. There is a flag pole holder immediately behind it. The plaque was placed by the Guy Enman Legion Post #156 of Deer Park in 1971.
