On the roof of the school there is a small tower with cupola. The weathervane is on top of the cupola. The stag and cardinal points all appear to be cut from brass sheet. The stag is shown with a full set of antlers and has a front leg raised. Beneath its hooves is a depiction of grass. The compass points are fixed to a ring below the stag.

The school coat-of-arms (see photos) inclides a stag, several actually, and it is probably for that reason that a stag was chosen to show the direction of the wind.

As the weathervane is on private school property the co-ordinates given are for the school gate where there is a good view of it.
