A gang of bank robbers rob the Central & District Bank and escape in a hearse. Unfortuantely, during their getaway a set of mourners tag along behind the hearse. The police follow the cortege and capture the gang. Before they are caught the leader of the gang puts the money inside a hollow tree on a path called Lovers Walk.

After fifteen years inside the gang comes out of prison and go in search of Lovers Walk. Lovers Walk is now a housing estate, and the tree is in the back yard of the local police station. The gang lodge in the house opposite and try all kinds of methods to get to the tree. When they eventually succeed they find that the money has been shredded by animals.
