Alexander Campbell was one of the founders and organizers of the Disciples of Christ church and of Bethany College. He had this hexagonal shaped study built circa 1836 by Louis Hobbs. The small brick structure has central lantern on the roof and pointed arch entrance and niches. It has a small addition to its rear. It is located about 100 feet to the west of the mansion. It was here that Campbell did most of writing and conducted his business activities. He was often at work in his study as early as 4:00 a.m. each day.

The study along with the rest of the Mansion complex is maintained by Bethany College and is in excellent condition.
