Lyn Hurst is involved in a car accident. In the ambulance on the way to hospital she pulls a gun and makes her escape. Regan realises that Lyn and Vic Tolman, a known violent villain, must have moved South and are planning a job. Fingerprints on the car identify Lyn and another man, Lennie. Fortunately there are remains of a parking ticket on the windscreen, which allow the team to identify the road that the car had been parked in. Eventually it is deduced that Lyn was visiting Joan, a fellow prison inmate. Further, Lyn’s daughter is staying with Joanne.
Meanwhile, Lyn, in disguise, is working in the wages department of an engineering department. The firm is about to pay out its annual bonus in cash. Lyn drugs the coffee in the wages department, and Vic and Lennie overpower the guard. They all manage to walk out of the works with the cash.
In a stroke of luck Lyn’s daughter has to go into hospital. Regan figures that Lyn might try to go see her. He is right and he manages to arrest Lyn and Joan at Joan’s flat. Regan and Carter wait in Joan’s flat. Vic rings a couple of times and gets no reply. Vic and Lennie drive down to the flat. Vic enters the flat and is surprised by Regan and Carter. Lennie is shot dead outside. In the confusion Vic manages to take Regan hostage. Regan and Vic leave in a car. Regan manages to crash the car and Vic is arrested.
