This headstone marks the grave of Sophia Ellen Baxter. Her obituary:

"BAXTER--At Dolph, Or., Thursday, September 4, 1903, Sophie E. Baxter, aged 23 years, of lung trouble. Deceased was the daughter of William and Margaret Baxter, of this city and was born in North Salem, July 27, 1880. She was attacked by lung trouble last winter and spent a few months in California, but her condition did not improve, and she returned to her home in April. She was a member of the First Christian church, of this city, and was a truly Christian lady. The remains will be brought to this city and given burial in the Odd Fellows' cemetery on Sunday (tomorrow). Notice of funeral arrangements will be announced later." -Oregon Statesman Sep 5, 1903
