"Esta é uma região de antiga ocupação humana, dizendo-se mesmo que o templo terá sido construído sobre um anterior edifício Romano, do qual ainda é visível parte do que se pensa ter sido o “podium”. De facto, há ainda quem defenda que o edifício seria ainda anterior à presença Romana no território. "
