The Clayton Drive-In is about the only place to eat in Clayton, so that's where we ate.

Out front, in the parking lot, is their sign proclaiming them to be the home of the Famous "Clayton Burger". Curious, we decided to try one. It turns out to be your basic "Kitchen Sink" burger, with everything they could think of thrown in. This is the only burger I've ever eaten that had, along with everything else, a hot dog in it. It was definitely different, but could really grow on one.

The drive in is a recreation of a 60s drive in, right down to the 60s music playing in the background. The people are nice and friendly, talkative and full of local information. Altogether it's a nice little place for a noon meal, followed by either hard or soft ice cream.

BTW, there's an interesting large terra cotta eagle on the eastern edge of their parking lot. Have a look at it while you're there.
