A hand-written notice by the north arcade's east window states:-

' The East Window of the Lord Henry Marney Chantry Chapel '
This early 16th century glass, being heraldic and non-religious, survived the Reform
ation. It was re-leaded in 1978, when destroyed or mutilated parts were
restored. It now consists of four escutcheons as follows:-

A B C D

A Quarterly 1 & 4 Marney; 2 Sergeaux; 3 Venables: impaling quarterly 1 & 4 Arundel; 2 Chideoch; 3 Carminow, all within the Garter: Lord Henry Marney, K.G. married Thomasine, daughter of Sir John Arundel of Lanherne, co.Cornwall. B Quarterly as above, Marney, Sergeaux, & Venables: all within the Garter. Lord Henry Marney was descended from Elizabeth Sergeaux & Catherine Venables. C Arms as A (Marney impaling Arundel) within wreath and with supporters. D Quarterly 1 Radcliffe; 2 Fitzwalter; 3 Burnell; 4 Moulton, all within the Garter, for Sir Robert Radcliffe, K.G., Viscount Fitzwalter, Earl of Sussex. His second son, George, married Lord John Marney's daughter Catherine. Between the escutcheons are several quarries of grisaille glass charged with a silver wing, the crest or badge of the Marney family.

In A and C;

Marney......Gules, a lion rampant guardant argent.

Sergeaux....Argent, a saltire sable between twelve cherries gules, slipped vert.

Venables....Azure, two bars argent.

Henry, 1st Baron MARNEY (c1457 - 1523) ..... His 2x great grandfather, Sir William de MARNEY (1305 - 1341), married Katherine VENABLES. His grandfather, also Sir William de MARNEY (1370 - 1414), married Elizabeth SERGEUAX (1373 - by 1414). Hence the dexter part of the escutcheons A and C.

Arundel.....Sable, six swallows argent, three two and one.

Chideoch....Gules, an inescutcheon between eight martlets in orle argent.

Carminow....Azure, a bend or.

..... married Thomasine ARUNDEL. Her 3x greatgrandfather had married Elizabeth CARMINOW (c1314 - c1359) and her mother was Catherine CHIDEOCK (c1423 - 1479). Hence the sinister part of the escutcheons A and C.

In B;

Radcliffe...Argent, a bend engrailed sable.

Fitzwalter..Or, a fesse between two chevronels gules.

Burnell.....Argent, a lion rampant sable, crowned or.

Moulton.....Argent, three bars gules.

Sir Robert Radcliffe, K.G., also known as Robert Fitzwalter RADCLIFFE (c1484 - 1542) had a great grandmother named Katherine BURNELL (1405? - 1452), they were also related to the CHIDEOCKs and his son, George, married Lord John Marney's daughter, Catherine.
