Located on the south side of the
Ross Ragland Theater, a multicultural center, is a donor wall of clay pavers, each containing a design and/or name of individuals who donated to the Ross Ragland fundraiser project that helped to establish the civic center in 1987. This center replaced the former movie theater, known as the Esquire Theater, for many decades until it closed in the mid-1980s. There are approximately 1000 pavers that make up this wall and many prominent citizens and local businesses at the time donated enough money to keep the former movie theater from being being demolished. The City of Klamath Falls purchased the building then donated it to the Ross Ragland Foundation as a permanent home to host social events. There was another fundraiser created in 1997 to help create the Ross Ragland Cultural Center, which also contains a sidewalk of donated bricks from community businesses and individuals.
This center is named after Ross Ragland, who was a prominent local civic leader and champion of the arts. You can read about the history of this center here.
