This obelisk is listed on the Smithsonian Inventory. It is made of painted steel with a marble fragment and a cement base. It is 8 foot tall and the Inventory (
visit link) provides the plaque inscription (with several typos) :
"(On plaque on base, at front of sculpture:) Reflections/The obelisk form has been used since 2400 B.C./to commemorate great people and events./This obelisk commemorates those who contributed/in their various and unique ways to the building/of Hovver (sic) Dam and Boulder City./The shining facets that notch this obelisk represent/the inscription dedicated to:/those individuals and their triumphs and sacrifices/who originally forged this environment;/tose (sic) individuals who subsequently have/conscientously (sic) molded it;/and those individuals yet to come, who will be/entrusted with its future sculpting./May these ever-changing reflections...../remind us of the past, enlightn (sic) the present,/and guide us to the future./ (In three columns:) (First column:) Fradella Iron Works/Constructor/September 30, 1994 (Second column:) Teddy Fenton/Donor (Third column:) Alan Stromberg, Architect/Designer signed"
