"Professou no convento beneditino de São Martinho de Tibães (Braga), tendo realizado seus estudos em Coimbra e em Lisboa. Em 1674, a ordem beneditina atribuiu-lhe o cargo de cronista. Frequentador da corte de D. Afonso VI, foi nomeado pregador régio."
"He was a professor at the Benedictine convent of St. Martin of Tibães (Braga)and carried out his studies in Coimbra and Lisbon. In 1674, the Benedictine order awarded him the post of chronicler. Frequenter of the court of Alfonso VI, was appointed royal preacher."
