The park has quite a bit to offer for a small city park, such as a playground, gazebo and restrooms at the south end, an RV park and campground at the north end, lots of mature trees, a bandshell with bleacher seating, and grassy areas in the centre. Chewelah Creek runs through the park lengthwise and is crossed near the centre of the park by a cool hand made bridge, made of steel tubing and old steel wagon wheels.
There are a couple of wood sculptures in the park, as well as a Smokey the Bear sign. Spread about throughout the park are benches and picnic tables at which to picnic or rest them weary bones. Across Lincoln Avenue to the south is a baseball diamond.
Every second weekend in July the park and the town host
Chautaqua, one of the oldest and longest running festivals in eastern Washington. Attendance for this event averages 40,000 to 60,000 people for this four day event.
