This very large flower symbolises, according to the plaque (in gallery), love, and is part of an international artistic campaign to promote love, peace, and so forth, via art. Well, good luck to that. According to the plaque, the sculpture is ~3m on each dimension, and it sits on a plinth. It is situated at the main entrance to the Singapore Art and Science Museum, near the city centre. There are peace flowers in several other countries. Cool.
There is a website: lovepeaceflower.com, and an app (!)
From the website:
“My dream is for my flowers to act as beacons and rallying points across the
planet – bringing people together on a global scale.”
The LOVE & PEACE Campaign has 15 monumental sculptures circling the globe from 2012 – 2017.
Each Love sculpture is made from 350x300x260 cm of fiberglass.
There are 3 of each of the 5 editions varying in colors: Ruby Red, Venetian Red,
Amethyst, Magenta, and Paris Red.
