Flume Trail is a one-mile loop trail that begins and ends in the vehicle parking lot just past the entrance to Castle Crags State Park.

Along the way, hikers and walkers can enjoy Indian Creek that meanders its way through various trail points. This footbridge is the first of two that span the creek which create perfect picture opportunities for the family.

The trail connects with a couple of other trails within the park, including the expansive 'trail of all trails' on the West Coast, Pacific Crest Trail.

There are other wonderful hiking trails in addition to campgrounds within the park and some beautiful views of Castle Crags, a large, rocky outcrop that juts out from the mountains await.

Castle Crags State Park is located six miles south of Dunsmuir and just west of Interstate-5, on Castle Crags State Park Rd. Ph: 530-235-2684.

My posted coordinates place you at the Flume Trail trailhead to begin your journey!
