Vista Point Trail is a smaller trail that begins and ends in the small vehicle parking lot after a winding drive on a narrow road within Castle Crags State Park (only normal size cars are allowed to access this road).

Once you get to the end of the trail, you reach a vista point that offers spectacular views of Castle Crags, a geological rock formation as well as views of Mt. Shasta. It's beautiful country here!

The trail connects with a couple of other trails within the park, one of them being the Kettlebelly Trail which will connect to the expansive 'trail of all trails' on the West Coast, Pacific Crest Trail.

There are other wonderful hiking trails in addition to campgrounds within the park and some beautiful views of Castle Crags, a large, rocky outcrop that juts out from the mountains await.

Castle Crags State Park is located six miles south of Dunsmuir and just west of Interstate-5, on Castle Crags State Park Rd. Ph: 530-235-2684.
