The aerial tramway was orignally built in 1956. It is the upper part of the connection from Arosa to the top of Weisshorn "Luftseilbahn Arosa-Weisshorn" (LAW). The lower loading station is connected to the top loading station of section 1. Here you have to change cabins.

The upper part was at this time the fastest aerial tramway of Switzerland with a speed of 10 meters/s. In 1992 the site was extended the lifts in the upper section have now a capacity of 125 persons per cabin.
