This visitor center is located about 1.5 miles from the trailhead. The trailhead is located near the entrance gate. This visitor center provides information about the park. I bet you didn't know that there were over 30 different TV shows and movies filmed here including M*A*S*H* and Planet of the Apes. Go inside and take a look around. There are rangers onsite from noon to four, although the park is open 24 hours a day. There are picnic tables so you can have your lunch or a snack before you go on a long hike. You can't drive this far in the park, but the rangers can. Have fun exploring the park, but you may want to come here first so you know what are the best places to go to.
