The Brooke County Courthouse was built in 1849 on the site of an earlier courthouse built in 1799. The two-story brick courthouse has a Doric style portico on its main facade (west). The courthouse is topped by a cupola. The county has built a new courthouse annex adjacent to the old courthouse but continues to use the old along with the new.
