A Umatilla indian village found by Clark and a small hunting party.

Before entering the village Clark had shot a crane and the Indians in the village heard the gun and saw the bird fall. They thought Clark and his party of 3 were from the clouds. They hid in their huts until Clark entered one and gave a peace sign and passed around his pipe. Later when Sacagawea arrived the women came out as well.
