The advertisement for Hands Studios is on the south-facing wall of 368-370 Bank Street. Hands Studios dates back to the late 1920s and was managed by Harry Melross Hands (1894-1966). The shop provided photographs and photographic supplies.
By the Second World War, the studios had become Rapid, Grip & Batten Ltd, a commercial art and photo engraving firm. Members of the Hands family were also connected with the new business.
