General Leo Fitzjohn retires from military life to write his memoirs. Throughout his life he has been a womaniser, much to the annoyance of his hypochondriac wife, Emily. The General is non plussed when Ghislane, a woman that he had a platonic friendship with, arrives to claim him romantically. Whilst the general is trying to find a way out of his predicament, his aide is falling for Ghislane.
