Located in front of the Learning Resource Center on the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) campus are a few dedicated benches made of wood. There are also greenish-gray benches amongst the wooden ones but they contain no plaques.

This particular bench has a small, metal plaque that reads:

"Not everything that can be counted counts, and not
everything that counts can be counted"
                                     Albert Einstein 1879-1955

In fond and loving memory of Charles & Agnes Abend
You are counted every night in our prayers and live
everyday in our hearts. From the Weed Clan-
Abner, Missie, Ashton, Gar, & Tad

I could find no real information for Charles and Agnes online. I did find a genealogy website that mentions a Charles and Agnes Abend that once lived in Grass Valley, CA. The 'Weed Clan' mentioned on the plaque is most likely in reference to Weed, CA, a small city just 80 miles southeast of Klamath Falls.
