This area was originally known as Dug Hill. But it was little more than a forgotten settlement when the planners of a resort village, named Bella Vista, came along. This cemetery is a churchyard cemetery behind the old Dug Hill Baptist Church, which is a classic A-frame building. In 2014 a Geocache was placed in the cemetery. According to FindAGrave, there were 278 interments at Dug Hill Cemetery at the time of this waymark posting. Although there were some graves without dates, the oldest recorded grave was from 1881.
