This trough and upping stone is on the north west side of Royal Parade, at the edge of the heath, in Blackheath.

There are no inscriptions on the trough but would seem like a sensible place to locate one, in days gone by, for watering animals on the heath and for mounting/dismounting a horse when departing/arriving in the village. Like many troughs the use has changed to a flower bed.
