Large concrete bear statues at the southwest end of the old Douglas Memorial Bridge. The open-spandrel arch Douglas Memorial Bridge across the Klamath River was built in 1926 and was destroyed in the Christmas 1964 flood. Originally there bears at each end of the bridge but only the southwest end of the bridge has been preserved. In the late 1950s or early 1960s residents to the former community of Klamath at the east end of the bridge began painting the bear gold. Check here (
