"The City of Olathe’s City Hall was the former Bank IV building located in the heart of downtown.
The Design solution involved consolidating city services and departments (previously spread among 27 buildings) into the newly renovated 75,000 sq. ft. facility. The facility, blending the old and the new, and is part of an extended campus incorporating the current city hall and is joined by a plaza/park area.
Hollis + Miller created a Master Plan of the entire downtown space complex, including the bank building.
The project was a 40,000 sq. ft. remodel of the first floor of the bank building and a two-story addition. The addition included a Council Chamber seating 160 people, various support spaces for the City Council on the first floor, and open office spaces (systems partitions and furniture) on the second floor to provide future flexibility.
The final phase included third floor remodeling of the bank building, construction of a plaza between old and new buildings, and remodeling of the old city hall."
