According to a note attached to it the grass cutter or harvester was used when the grass had matured & dry weather was expected for several days. Two horses would have been used to pull the cutter. It was manufactured by Massey Harris, Toronto, Canada.

Kangaroo Valley was (and still is) an important dairying centre & the grass would have been bailed or stacked for feed.
