The You Are Here Map was initiated by the Kangaroo Valley (K.V.) Conservation Soc. & made by the "kids" of the K.V. Primary School in 1972.
There are three strings (twine) attached to a small board, with the You Are Here part in the middle. To find out where you are in relation to the broader map, you follow the string which leads you a point close to Hampden Bridge which is across the road from the museum.
The map displays the Kangaroo Valley, surrounding mountains, rivers, roads & has a legend of places of interest & their associated numbers.
Kangaroo Valley is one of only 7 naturally enclosed valleys on Earth, with the best known being The Grand Canyon.
