The set of coordinates and elevation sign for Chimney Rock, a significant landmark on all three great emigrant trails - the Oregon rail, the California Trail, and the Mormon Pioneer Trail. For the Mormons, Chimney Rock represented the half-way point in their long overland journey to the Valley of the Salt Lake.
