On a quick jaunt across the lake we had some time to kill waiting for the next ferry back, so we wandered up to Riondel. There we stopped in at Bob's Bar and Grill for a gnosh, and are happy that we did.
Bob's serves some of the best pizza we have tried, plus his bacon burger is something I would definitely go back and have again. Though it is a tiny town and the competition is somewhat limited, it gets our vote for Best Burger in Town.
Neither of us being drinkers of note, we declined the opportunity to sample the brews, but the food and the atmosphere are well and truly enough to recommend this place. They have an appetizing menu of burgers, pizzas, entrées and snacks, and daily specials which always include home made soups, breads and pastries and their own sauces.
So our recommendation to you is, the next time you are waiting for the Balfour Ferry at Kootenay Bay and pangs of hunger attack, take a quick run up to Bob's at Riondel. And don't forget to sign his guest book on the way out.
