The Pettit-Starr House at 269 Union St. was built circa 1814 for merchant Merrick Starr. The two story brick house has Flemish bond construction with Adamesque entry and cared stone hood. The design and sophisticated craftsmanship was rare in rural Ohio at the time of construction.

The house is in fair condition and is a private residence.
