The Amos Jones House at 279 Union Street was constructed circa 1813. The two-story brick house uses Flemish bond construction and has an Adamesque entry and carved stone hoods. The design and sophisticated craftsmanship were found elsewhere in the country but were rare in rural Ohio at the time of construction.

The house has fallen on disrepair and is in need of maintenance. It is in poor condition and is boarded up.
