Enter the Silence is not totally appropriate, though, as this labyrinth is right by the lake and the sound of waves lapping on the shore disturbs the silence somewhat.
This one is actually listed in the
Worldwide Labyrinth Locator, on page 2 of the BC, Canada section. It is quite simply made of rocks gathered on the beach. About 30 to 35 feet in diameter, it took us on a long route to the centre and back.
On the beach across First Street from Vimy Park, one could consider this labyrinth part of the park, if one so chose. It's yet unknown exactly who was responsible for its construction.
The name
Light House Labyrinth derives from its being on Lighthouse Beach, the one time location of a small navigation beacon which guided paddle wheelers plying the waters of Kootenay Lake.
